The Inaugural Meeting was held at 13 Orchard St., Bristol on the 12th March 1962
Recorded present were:
Mr. C.P.Wadsworth chaired the meeting.
A committee was proposed by Mr.R Anderson to be those who had set up the meeting:
Mr. G.Bates, Mrs. D.Bates, Mrs. J. Hood, Miss N.Jenkins, Miss D.Lear, Miss K.Lewis, Mrs. J Morris,
Mr. K.Porter, Mrs. R.Porter, Mr. C.P.Wadsworth.
There were also three representatives of local groups appointed: Dr Barbour (Westbury S.C.), Mr.A.Dunn (Br. Teachers Group), Mr J Morton (Br. Caledonian)
At the next committee meeting officers were elected:
Chair: Mr. C.P.Wadsworth Secretary: Mr. D.Bates Treasurer: Miss K.Lewis.
VENUES AND CLASSES: The first class was a beginners on 17th March at Orchard St. at which 32 people attended, then six more there, with the last of these initial classes at Cotham Methodist Hall with Tom Legatt as piper. The TEACHER was Mrs. Bates.
